Table Kids + Students
Vision
While Table Kids formally focuses on Sunday mornings, we want to be a church that helps kids, families and volunteers grow in following Jesus with their whole lives and become empowered for meaningful belonging in the family of God. It takes the whole church to accomplish this vision, and it takes shape in both formal and informal ways as children…
… watch their parents being discipled and discipling others.
… befriend other kids and adults from church throughout the week.
… see the Gospel lived out in an intergenerational community, and get to know their pastors, elders, and other leaders.
… become confident in knowing that The Table does not see them as second-class citizens, but gives them a seat at the table (pun intended).
Table Kids
While much of the work of discipling children happens organically Monday through Saturday, Table Kids is our Sunday morning children’s ministry that serves children and their families by…
… introducing them to Jesus and the Gospel.
… teaching them the Bible.
… building community and creating space for children to belong.
… preparing them for greater involvement in worship as they grow.
To do so, teachers and assistants welcome children and lead them through age appropriate activities and discussion steeped in the gospel. Table Kids Check-in begins at 9:50am for all classes so feel free to arrive early to get settled in! The Nursery and Preschool + Kindergarten class meet for the entire service so you will bring your child directly back to his/her classroom. Children participating in the Elementary class will join their families for worship and be dismissed during the Passing of the Peace.
Children are not a burden, and are always welcome in the service (yes, even on bad days), and we have some activities available to make that easier for them!Children are not a burden, and are always welcome in the service (yes, even on bad days), and we have some activities available for elementary-aged children to make that easier for them!
Please let us know if we can do anything to accommodate your child’s needs or have any other questions!
Table Students
Table Students is our ministry for middle and high school students, created to walk with students as they grow in following Jesus and find their place in the life of the church. We believe students are formed not only through programs, but through worship, relationships, and shared life alongside the people of God.
Because of this, we value students being present in Sunday morning worship, learning to participate in the gathered life of the church alongside their parents and the broader community. We see Sunday worship as a primary space where students are shaped—by Scripture, prayer, the sacraments, and by watching faith lived out across generations.
Table Students Gatherings (September–May)
In addition to Sunday mornings, Table Students gather together on the first and third Sundays of the month from September through May, on Sunday evenings from 5–7pm. These gatherings are designed to complement—not replace—participation in corporate worship, helping students engage Scripture, reflect together, and grow in confidence as members of the church.
These evenings are a core rhythm of our ministry and include:
Dinner together, building community around the table
Biblical teaching rooted in the story of Scripture and the Gospel
Small groups where students can ask questions, be known, and grow in faith
Fun and shared life, because joy and belonging matter
Our goal is to create a space that is hospitable, relational, and approachable—where students can show up as they are and be invited to take meaningful steps toward Jesus.
Throughout the year, we also host occasional hangouts and service opportunities that give students concrete ways to practice following Jesus in community and in the world. These moments help students experience faith as something lived, not just discussed.
“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.
Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the door frames of your houses and on your gates.”
